Information about the WEPA Foundation Memorial Scholarship from Wisconsin Equine Practitioners, Inc.

WISCONSIN EQUINE PRACTITIONERS' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL AAEP CONVENTION SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

We are inviting third and fourth year veterinary students to apply for The Wisconsin Equine Practitioners' Association Foundation Memorial Fund Scholarship. This scholarship fund was established in 1996 by WEPA to honor the memory of a fellow member, Brian Oetjen. Since then this fund has come to represent a memorial honoring all deceased WEPA members. The Scholarship Committee will award $500.00 to each of two third or fourth year veterinary students to help cover their expenses to attend the American Association of Equine Practitioners Convention.

This year's AAEP Convention will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino December 5-9. The student registration fee is $60.00 in advance, $80.00 after October 28th or onsite at the meeting, with your Student AAEP membership number for verification. Student attendance is allowed at all meeting sessions except wet labs. Additional fees will apply for attendance to special events at the same rate indicated on the registration for graduate veterinarians. The two scholarship recipients will be asked to give a report at a regular club meeting of the UW-SVM Equine Club on the sessions they attend at the AAEP Convention and their convention experiences. They will also be invited to attend the spring meeting of the Wisconsin Equine Practitioners' Association Inc. as a guest and share their convention experiences with the attending members. Their names will also be added to the Wisconsin Equine Practitioners' Association Memorial Fund Scholarship Plaque displayed in the UW-SVM trophy display case.
